Join us for an unforgettable 14-day expedition to Nepal in September/October 2025, where students will explore the wonders of the Himalayas and dive deep into Nepal’s vibrant culture. This immersive journey combines adventure with personal growth, offering opportunities to build leadership, teamwork, and resilience. From trekking ancient trails to engaging in local community projects, this experience will challenge students to step outside their comfort zones, create lasting friendships, and return with a new perspective on the world.

Itinerary

Day 1
Embark on your journey as you depart from South Africa.

Day 2
Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel, and acclimatise. Attend trip orientation at 5:30 PM, followed by a welcome dinner.

Day 3
Visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Boudhanath. Prepare for the community project. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4
Travel to the community project site at Mother and Children Art Foundation. Begin community work and interact with local schoolchildren. Camp overnight.

Day 5
Continue community project work, focusing on cultural exchanges and team dynamics. Camp overnight at the project site.

Day 6
Complete project work and discuss education in Nepal with school staff. Return to Kathmandu and overnight at hotel.

Day 7
Enjoy white-water rafting on the Trisuli River, followed by travel to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

Guided tour to World Peace Pagoda and International Mountain Museum. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

Begin Poon Hill Trek, reaching Tikhedunga (1540m). Overnight in a local tea house.

Trek from Tikhedunga to Ghorepani (2860m). Overnight in a tea house.

Day 11
We hike early to catch the sunrise at Poon Hill, then descend through villages to Birethanti, where we take a bus back to Pokhara.

Return to Kathmandu by bus, transfer to hotel, and free time for shopping.

Last day in Kathmandu for exploration and shopping.

Depart from Kathmandu and arrive back in South Africa.
